The train's interiors draw on the great names of 20th-century Italian design, from Gio Ponti to Gae Aulenti, with rich colour, lacquer and brass. Journeys from Rome begin in a private lounge at Ostiense station, where you check in, leave luggage and relax before boarding.
The Bar Car is the social heart of the train. A resident pianist plays at aperitivo, and after dinner a live band of piano, vocals and a horn or bass performs for around an hour and a half. Table games are available when you want a quieter moment.
Menus are created by three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck and change with the regions you travel through, from Tuscan classics to Sicilian flavours. Selected wines, spirits, soft drinks, tea and coffee are included, with premium labels available at extra cost.
The Restaurant Car seats 40 at tables for two and four, with more than one sitting at meals. Breakfast can be served in your cabin or in the Restaurant Car, and dietary needs can be catered for when requested at booking.

There are 12 Deluxe Cabins of 7 m², 18 Suites of 11 m² and a single La Dolce Vita Suite of about 30 m². Every cabin has a private bathroom, and one Suite is adapted for guests with reduced mobility.
You sleep aboard in your cabin as the train travels or rests at quiet stations overnight. Days are usually spent ashore in a city or village, with transfers from the station into the centre provided.
Menus are created by three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck and change with the regions on each route. Selected wines, spirits and soft drinks are included with meals.

For a first taste, a one-night trip such as Tastes of Tuscan Vineyards or Rome to Venice works well. For Sicily choose a Rome–Palermo journey, for wine look at the Truffle Route or Italian Wine Route, and for the fullest experience choose The Grand Tour.
Fares include the transfer to the departure station, your cabin, meals as per the itinerary, selected drinks, onboard entertainment and transfers into town at each stop. Guided experiences ashore, premium wines, insurance and gratuities are extra.
Fares depend on the departure and the cabin category you choose. Live dates and fares are shown on this page, and our reservations team can help on (866) 484-7882.
