This round trip on the La Dolce Vita Orient Express heads up the Ligurian coast to Santa Margherita Ligure for an afternoon in Portofino. The second day is spent in Venice and the third in Florence, before the train returns to Rome.

A private transfer brings you to the lounge at Rome Ostiense, and lunch is served as the train crosses Tuscany towards Liguria. In the afternoon you reach Santa Margherita Ligure, where a private transfer takes you to Portofino to explore or join an optional experience. Back on board, dinner is followed by a musical trio in the Bar Car.

Day 2VeniceOn board
Breakfast is served as the train crosses northern Italy to Venezia Santa Lucia. Spend the day exploring freely or on an optional experience. You rejoin the train for dinner and live entertainment as it travels through the night.

Day 3Florence → Rome
After breakfast, the train arrives in Florence, where local guides welcome you to the city. Explore its Renaissance architecture and riverside on your own or with an optional experience. In the afternoon you return on board for the journey south to Rome.

How do we reach Portofino?
The train stops at Santa Margherita Ligure, and a private transfer takes you to Portofino for the afternoon before you return to the train. You rejoin the train at Santa Margherita Ligure in the evening.
How much time is there in Venice?
The second day is spent in Venice. You arrive after breakfast and rejoin the train later in the day.
Does the journey end in Venice?
No. This is a round trip that continues to Florence on the third day and returns to Rome. If you would like to end in Venice, Rome, Portofino and Venice is a one-night alternative.
Can I book guided tours?
Yes. Optional experiences are available at each stop, including private walks in Florence and visits in Venice.
Which meals are included?
Lunch and dinner on the first day, breakfast and dinner on the second, and breakfast on the third, with selected wines and drinks. Menus are created by three-Michelin-starred chef Heinz Beck.
