This festive round trip on the La Dolce Vita Orient Express heads to the Tuscan coast for a vintage-car drive to a Bolgheri winery, then on to Venice for the last day of the year. Back on board, a New Year's Eve dinner, burlesque, live music and a DJ see in the new year before the return to Rome.

The train leaves Rome in the morning for Tuscany. In the afternoon a fleet of vintage cars drives you along the Viale dei Cipressi to Bolgheri and a private wine estate for a guided cellar visit and tasting. In the evening, dinner by chef Heinz Beck is followed by a pianist and singer in the Bar Car.

Day 2Venice and New Year's EveOn board
After breakfast the train reaches Venezia Santa Lucia, and a boat transfer takes you through the canals into the city to explore or join an optional experience. In the afternoon you reboard for a burlesque performance and a gourmet New Year's Eve dinner with toasts. A second show and live music lead up to midnight, when a DJ set brings in the new year.

New Year's Day begins with a leisurely breakfast as the train approaches Rome. You arrive at Rome Ostiense at 11am and can relax in the lounge before going on your way.

Yes. Whispers at Midnight is built around New Year's Eve, with the celebration taking place on board on the second night and the train returning to Rome on New Year's Day.
What happens in Bolgheri?
Vintage cars meet the train and drive you along the cypress-lined Viale dei Cipressi to a private wine estate for a guided cellar visit and tasting, then bring you back to the train. The estate visit includes a guided tour of the cellars and a tasting of selected wines.
