Heritage Odyssey is a week-long loop from Delhi devoted to Rajasthan's royal cities. After the Taj Mahal and a dawn safari in Ranthambore, you visit Udaipur's palace and lake, Jodhpur's Mehrangarh Fort, Jaisalmer's living fort and desert dunes at sunset, and finish with Jaipur's Amber Fort before returning to Delhi.

Day 1DelhiOn board
Check in at Delhi's railway station in the evening and board the Deccan Odyssey, which departs later that night.
Day 2AgraOn board
Leave the train at Tundla and drive to Agra for the Taj Mahal. After lunch at a city hotel, visit Agra Fort and a workshop demonstrating pietra dura marble inlay, then return on board for dinner.

Day 3Sawai Madhopur – RanthamboreOn board
Set out early for a morning safari in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. Back on the train, lunch is served as you travel on towards Udaipur.

Day 4UdaipurOn board
Visit the City Palace and take a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Lunch is at a city hotel, followed by a walk through the old city and its colourful bazaar.

Day 5JodhpurOn board
Explore Mehrangarh Fort in the morning and return to the train for lunch. In the afternoon, a tuk-tuk takes you to the Clock Tower to wander the old market and see the city's havelis.

Day 6JaisalmerOn board
Tour the honey-coloured Jaisalmer Fort and the ornate Nathmal ki Haveli, then return on board for lunch. Later, head out to the sand dunes to watch the sun set over the desert.

Day 7JaipurOn board
Visit Amber Fort in the morning and have lunch at a city hotel. The afternoon brings the City Palace and a drive past the Hawa Mahal before the last night on board.

Questions about this journey
Which cities does Heritage Odyssey visit?
Starting and ending in Delhi, it visits Agra, Sawai Madhopur for Ranthambore, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Jaipur. It is the only Deccan Odyssey route that reaches Jaisalmer.
Is the Ranthambore safari in the morning or afternoon?
On this journey it is an early morning safari on day three. You return to the train for lunch as it continues to Udaipur.
What happens in Jaisalmer?
You visit Jaisalmer Fort and Nathmal ki Haveli in the morning, have lunch on board, then drive out to the dunes for the desert sunset.
Does the journey include the Taj Mahal?
Yes, on day two. The train stops at Tundla and you drive to Agra for the Taj Mahal, lunch, Agra Fort and a marble inlay demonstration.
How does Heritage Odyssey differ from Cultural Odyssey?
Both are round trips from Delhi. Heritage Odyssey focuses on Rajasthan, including Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, while Cultural Odyssey heads east to Varanasi, Khajuraho and Orchha.
