Overview
Three nights into the Highlands, built around ancient mountains, gardens and wildlife. The train climbs through Perthshire to Boat of Garten, then takes the scenic line to Kyle of Lochalsh for Attadale Gardens, Plockton's seals or a guided wellness hike. Back in the Cairngorms, choose fishing, wild swimming or forest bathing at Rothiemurchus and a Speyside distillery or a riverside cycle.

Highland scenery opens up beyond Aviemore and the Cairngorms before the night at Boat of Garten. After dinner, enjoy Gaelic entertainment and a local dram in the Observation Car.

Day 2Inverness → Kyle of LochalshKyle of Lochalsh
The train heads north to Inverness, with lunch on the scenic line to Kyle of Lochalsh through Achnasheen and Achnashellach. At Strathcarron, visit Attadale Gardens, or carry on to Plockton for wild seals and Highland hospitality. Alternatively, join a guided wellness hike near Kyle of Lochalsh before the night on board.

Day 3Rothiemurchus → Speyside
Leaving Kyle early, the train retraces its route and stops at Aviemore for Rothiemurchus Estate, with fishing, clay shooting, wild swimming or forest bathing. After lunch on board, take a private tour and tasting at a Speyside distillery or a gentle cycle along the River Spey. Rejoin the train at Boat of Garten for a celebratory final dinner and dancing.

Breakfast is served as the train crosses the Tay Bridge into Fife and returns to Edinburgh, where the journey ends.
