Overview
A four-night circuit of the Highlands from Edinburgh, up the east coast to Keith and west on one of Britain's most scenic railways to Kyle of Lochalsh. Choose between Attadale Gardens and Plockton's seals, visit Ballindalloch Castle, spend a morning at Rothiemurchus in the Cairngorms and finish with Glamis Castle or Pitlochry before a gala dinner.

The train heads north from Edinburgh over the Forth Railway Bridge. Afternoon tea is served as you pass Arbroath, Montrose and Aberdeen on the way to Keith, where the evening brings an informal dinner and entertainment in the Observation Car.

Day 2Keith → Kyle of LochalshKyle of Lochalsh
Follow the Moray Firth west to Inverness, with lunch on board along the scenic line to Kyle of Lochalsh. Leave the train at Strathcarron for Attadale Gardens, or stay aboard to Plockton for wild seals and a woodland walk. Back on board, a formal dinner is followed by a nightcap and live music in the bar.

Day 3Kyle of Lochalsh → Garve → Boat of GartenBoat of Garten
Start with an early walk across the bridge to the Isle of Skye, then have breakfast as the train runs back past Plockton. At Garve, browse the shops or join a Highland storyteller on a walk to the Silver Bridge. After lunch on the way to Carrbridge, visit Ballindalloch Castle for a private tour or a distillery experience, then rejoin the train at Boat of Garten for dinner and Highland tales.

Day 4Rothiemurchus → DundeeDundee
A coach takes you to Rothiemurchus Estate in the Cairngorms for fishing, clay shooting or an estate tour. Lunch is served from Kingussie to Dunkeld, followed by a choice of Glamis Castle or Pitlochry and Blair Athol Distillery. Rejoin the train at Perth for a gala dinner and entertainment, with the final night in Dundee.
