Day by day
Day 1Edinburgh → Montrose
Board in the early afternoon as the train heads north over the Forth Railway Bridge. Leave the train at Montrose to visit Pitmuies Garden, one of the finest private gardens in Scotland.
Day 2Foulis Castle → Kyle of LochalshKyle of Lochalsh
Over breakfast the train travels to Invergordon for 18th-century Foulis Castle, where you can meet the Munro family or enjoy a whisky tasting. Lunch is served on the way past Torridon, Achnashellach Forest and Loch Carron, followed by a visit to Attadale Estate. The night is spent at Kyle of Lochalsh with an informal dinner and coffee or liqueurs in the Observation Car.

Day 3Isle of Skye → Ballindalloch → Boat of GartenBoat of Garten
After breakfast, drive over to the Isle of Skye and the 2,000-acre Clan Donald estate. Back at Kyle of Lochalsh, a leisurely lunch is served on the way towards Dingwall. In the evening, visit Ballindalloch Castle and its walled gardens, then rejoin the train at Boat of Garten on the Strathspey Railway.

Day 4Rothiemurchus → Kilbryde → DundeeDundee
A coach takes you to Rothiemurchus Estate for a parkland tour or outdoor activities beneath the Cairngorms. Lunch is served from Kingussie, followed by a visit to Kilbryde Castle and Gardens near Dunblane. Rejoin the train at Dundee for a gala dinner and the final night on board.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and a last look at the Scottish countryside as the train returns from Dundee to Edinburgh.
