Questions about this journey
When does the train leave Venice?
The train departs Venezia Santa Lucia at 6:30pm on the first day, after a water taxi transfer to the platform. Dinner is served on board soon after departure.
How long do we spend in Siena?
Most of the second day. Guides take you into Siena in the morning and you rejoin the train in the late afternoon.
When do we reach Rome?
The train leaves for Rome at 7:30pm on the second day, so you arrive in the evening. Booking a hotel in Rome for that night is a good idea.
Are there optional experiences in Siena?
Yes, including experiences focused on Siena's goldsmith tradition, its Palio heritage and its noble palaces. You can also simply explore the city at your own pace.
Is there a version via Florence?
Yes. From Venice to Rome via Florence is a separate one-night journey with a day in Florence instead of Siena.
How do I check prices and dates?
Fares depend on the departure and the cabin category you choose. Live dates and fares are shown on this page, and our reservations team can help on (866) 484-7882.
