Gin lovers' day out. The train carries you to Hampshire, where a renowned gin distillery with roots in the 18th century occupies striking glasshouses designed by Thomas Heatherwick. Take a guided tour, discover the botanicals behind the spirit, then mix your own at an interactive masterclass before English fizz and dinner on the way home.

Day by day
Day 1Morning: London Victoria to Hampshire
Board at London Victoria and settle in with a welcome glass of sparkling wine and fine dining as the train heads into Hampshire.
Day 2Afternoon: the distillery
Transfer to the distillery for a guided tour of the site and its glasshouses, learning about the botanicals used in the infusion, then test your mixology skills at a gin masterclass at the estate bar.
Day 3Evening: return to London
Back on board, a glass of English fizz is followed by dinner, with coffee and petits fours before you arrive in London.

Questions about this journey
What time does the train leave and get back?
The British Pullman leaves London Victoria at about 09:30 and is due back at about 20:15. Timings are approximate and can change at short notice because the train runs on the national rail network.
Which meals are included?
Fine dining is served on board, including dinner on the return with English fizz, coffee and petits fours. Gin is tasted during the masterclass at the distillery.
What should I wear?
Smart dress is expected: please leave denim, trainers, baseball caps, collarless T-shirts and shorts at home. Jackets and ties are not compulsory, but on the British Pullman you can never be overdressed.

What happens at the distillery?
You join a guided tour of the distillery and its glasshouses and learn about the botanicals in the gin. Afterwards there is an interactive masterclass and tasting at the estate bar.
Is there any footwear advice?
It is a working distillery, so sensible shoes are advised; open-toed shoes and high heels are not allowed inside. Smart dress still applies once you are back on the train.
