From Newbury a private coach takes you to the castle for a tour of the State Rooms and upstairs bedrooms, and the Egyptian Exhibition telling how the 5th Earl of Carnarvon and Howard Carter found Tutankhamun's tomb. Day 1Morning: London Victoria to Newbury
Board at London Victoria and settle in with a welcome glass of sparkling wine as the train heads west.
Day 2Afternoon: Highclere Castle
A private coach takes you from Newbury station to Highclere. Tour the State Rooms and upstairs bedrooms and explore the Egyptian Exhibition in the cellars, which tells the story of the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb.
Day 3Evening: return to London Victoria
Rejoin the British Pullman for dinner on the way back, with coffee and petits fours before arrival.

What time does the train leave and get back?
The British Pullman leaves London Victoria at about 09:30 and is due back at about 20:15. Timings are approximate and can change at short notice because the train runs on the national rail network.
Which meals are included?
Fine dining is served on board, including dinner on the return with coffee and petits fours. The operator does not detail the outbound meal for this journey.
What should I wear?
Smart dress is expected: please leave denim, trainers, baseball caps, collarless T-shirts and shorts at home. Jackets and ties are not compulsory, but on the British Pullman you can never be overdressed.
