Day 1Bilbao → SantanderSantander
Your journey begins at Bilbao's historic Concordia station, followed by a first tour of a city that blends tradition, contemporary architecture and urban renewal. After lunch the train sets off along the Cantabrian coast to Santander, with free time to enjoy the elegant Cantabrian capital before dinner.

Breakfast is served on board as the train rolls through green countryside and small northern villages. You visit Santillana del Mar, one of the best-preserved medieval villages in Spain, then after lunch continue along the coast into Asturias to the seaside town of Llanes.

Day 3Llanes → Arenas de Cabrales → OviedoOviedo
After breakfast you head into the natural setting of the Picos de Europa and Arenas de Cabrales, a highlight of the route for its mountains and traditions. Following lunch you continue to Oviedo, capital of Asturias, with time in its historic centre before dinner on board.

The journey follows the Asturian coast with its seascapes and small towns, stopping in Gijón, a seafront city with a strong cultural and culinary character. In the afternoon the train continues to Luarca, the white town of the Costa Verde, with free time before dinner.

Over breakfast the train crosses into Galicia through some of the most beautiful Atlantic coastal scenery. The day combines Ribadeo with Taramundi, where traditions, nature and folk heritage capture the essence of northern Spain, before arriving in Viveiro for dinner.

Day 6Viveiro → Ferrol → Santiago de Compostela
The last breakfast on board is served as the train arrives in Ferrol. From there you transfer to Santiago de Compostela, the great monumental pilgrim city, for a guided tour and farewell lunch to close the journey.

Where does the Bilbao to Santiago journey begin?
Guests are welcomed at Bilbao's historic Concordia station. The first day includes a tour of the city before lunch and the train ride along the coast to Santander.
Does the route go into the Picos de Europa?
Yes. On the third day you head from Llanes into the Picos de Europa to Arenas de Cabrales, a mountain area known for its landscapes and traditions, before continuing to Oviedo.
Which towns do we stay in overnight?
The train stops overnight in Santander, Llanes, Oviedo, Luarca and Viveiro, and you sleep in your suite on board each night.

Taramundi is a rural area near the Galicia–Asturias border where traditional crafts, nature and folk heritage are well preserved. It is visited together with Ribadeo on the fifth day.
