The train reaches Napoli Centrale in the afternoon of the first day, and you have the afternoon in the city before rejoining the train for dinner. A private transfer takes you from Napoli Centrale into the city.

The train arrives in Palermo at 10am on the third day. Breakfast is served on board as the train crosses Sicily.
Can I see the Strait of Messina crossing?
Yes. On the second morning the train boards a ferry, and you can step out to watch the sea as Sicily comes into view.
