Overview
This one-way journey on the La Dolce Vita Orient Express leaves Rome in the morning for Maratea on the Tyrrhenian coast. The next day the train is ferried across the Strait of Messina to Taormina, before running on overnight to arrive in Palermo on the third morning.

A private transfer takes you to the lounge at Rome Ostiense before a morning departure. Lunch by chef Heinz Beck is served at midday. In the afternoon you arrive in Maratea, between sea and mountains, to explore or join an optional experience such as a visit to the Christ the Redeemer statue, then reboard for live music in the Bar Car.

Breakfast is served and the morning is yours to enjoy on board as the train heads south. In the afternoon the train is divided and loaded onto a ferry to cross the Strait of Messina, then continues to Taormina for free time or an optional experience. Dinner and live music follow as the train sets off for Palermo.

Breakfast is served as the train approaches Palermo. You disembark into a city of ancient landmarks and lively markets, where the journey ends.
