Overview

This round trip from Delhi joins the royal sights of Rajasthan to the spiritual heartland of northern India. Day 1Delhi → JaipurOn board, stationed at Jaipur

Check in at Delhi's Safdarjung station for a welcome and breakfast as the Maharajas' Express sets off for Jaipur. After a tour briefing and lunch on board, arrive in the afternoon to visit the Albert Hall Museum and Amber Fort. Dinner is served on the train, which stays in Jaipur overnight.

Day 2JaipurOn board, en route to Ranthambore

After breakfast, explore the City Palace galleries and the Jantar Mantar observatory, then return to the train for lunch. In the evening you are taken to dinner at an exclusive venue before the train leaves overnight for Sawai Madhopur.

Day 3Ranthambore → Fatehpur SikriOn board, en route to Agra

Arrive at Sawai Madhopur at dawn for a game drive in Ranthambore National Park, then return to the train for breakfast. Lunch is served on board before an afternoon visit to Fatehpur Sikri, the deserted Mughal city. Dinner is served back on the train.

Arrive in Agra early and visit the Taj Mahal, followed by breakfast at an exclusive venue. After lunch on board, tour Agra Fort and watch the Mohabbat-e-Taj show. Dinner is served on the train before it departs late at night for Orchha.

Day 5Orchha → KhajurahoOn board, en route to Varanasi

The train reaches Orchha in the early morning for a visit to Orchha Fort and a village tour by tuk-tuk, then breakfast on board. Lunch is served on the way to Khajuraho, where you spend the afternoon at the Western Group of Temples. The evening brings an Indian evening and dinner on board.

Breakfast is served as the train approaches Varanasi. Head out to the ruins at Sarnath and a silk weaving centre, with lunch at an exclusive venue. In the late afternoon, take a boat on the Ganges to watch the evening aarti ceremony, then return to the train for dinner.
