After a station tour and museum visit in Pretoria, the train heads west to Rustenburg at the foot of the Pilanesberg. The first dinner on board is formal.

Day 2Pilanesberg & Sun CityOn board
Transfer about an hour to Sun City. Non-golfers enjoy a game drive in the Pilanesberg Reserve and an afternoon at leisure at the Lost City, while golfers tee off on the Gary Player or Lost City course with lunch. The train then travels to Heidelberg.

A relaxed day on board heading for Ladysmith, climbing past Majuba Hill and the Anglo-Boer War battlefields of Glencoe. Tonight is an Africa-themed evening, or smart casual.

Day 4Spionkop & Champagne Sports ResortOn board
Non-golfers transfer about 30 minutes to Spionkop Lodge to hear the story of the Battle of Spionkop over lunch, followed by a nature drive or time to relax. Golfers transfer to Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensberg foothills for tee off and lunch, rejoining the train at Estcourt.

Day 5DurbanOn board
Non-golfers tour Durban and its botanical gardens, with lunch on Umhlanga's beachfront and an afternoon at leisure. Golfers play Durban Country Club or Zimbali Lakes with lunch. The train then travels to Hluhluwe.

Day 6Hluhluwe-iMfolozi ParkOn board
After a continental breakfast, transfer about 30 minutes for a game drive in Hluhluwe, the oldest proclaimed reserve in Africa. The train continues across the border to Mpaka in eSwatini.

Non-golfers head to Mkhaya Reserve for a game drive, then to Swazi Candles and Mantenga Cultural Village with lunch. Golfers tee off at Royal Swazi or Nkonyeni with lunch. The train then crosses back into South Africa at Komatipoort and runs to Malelane.

Day 8Kruger National Park & KambakuOn board
Non-golfers enjoy a game drive in the Kruger with tea, lunch and a chance to shop for curios. Golfers transfer about 45 minutes to Kambaku Golf Club for tee off and lunch. The train then climbs the escarpment towards Belfast.

Day 9Dullstroom & Highland GateOn board
Non-golfers hear a presentation on flyfishing with lunch at Walkerson's Hotel, followed by an introduction to whisky distilling and Dullstroom's arts and crafts centre. Golfers play Highland Gate with lunch. Tonight is a roaring-twenties themed evening, or smart casual.

No. Every golf day has a parallel programme for non-golfers, with game drives, city tours and cultural visits. Couples can easily split up for the day and meet again on the train.
Which golf courses are played?
The courses are Gary Player or Lost City at Sun City, Champagne Sports Resort, Durban Country Club or Zimbali Lakes, Royal Swazi or Nkonyeni, Kambaku and Highland Gate. Course selection depends on availability.
Are green fees included?

Where does the Golf Safari start and end?
It is a round trip that starts and ends at the train's station in Pretoria. The route loops through North West, KwaZulu-Natal, eSwatini and Mpumalanga.
Can the order of the itinerary change?
